Why is rubber mulch recommended over wood mulch?

Rubber mulch is safer for kids to play on and it is non-biodegradable so you will not have to replace it year after year. Rubber mulch does not absorb water and drains extremely well.

Do I HAVE to put down weed barrier cloth before I lay down my rubber mulch?

It is definitely recommended that weed barrier cloth is installed first because the rubber does NOT act as a weed barrier. Failure to install weed barrier cloth could result in weeds show through your mulch.

How deep do you recommend the rubber mulch be for playgrounds?

4"-6" deep.

How deep do you recommend the rubber mulch be for landscaping?

1.5"-2" deep.

Will the colors on the rubber mulch come off on my kid's clothes?

No. We use specially-formulated binders that seal and coat the mulch.

Can I get samples of the rubber mulch?

Yes. Just be sure to give us your name, address, phone number, and the color(s) and product(s) you are interested in.

How do you sell the rubber mulch?

We sell rubber mulch by the full ton (2,000 lbs.), by the half ton (1,000 lbs.), and in 40 lb. bags depending on how big the order is.

How is the rubber mulch packaged?

The mulch comes in large super sacks that are about 6ft high and 4ft wide all the way around.

How much does one ton cover?

One ton will cover 65 cubic feet, or 2.4 cubic yards; a play area of 14'x14' at a 4" depth, or a landscape area of 20'x20' at a 2" depth.

Can I pick up my rubber mulch?

Yes. However, you will need a truck that can handle the weight of 2,000 lbs. (more or less depending on how much you purchase). Make sure to bring bungee cords or straps to secure the super sacks (we DO NOT provide these items).

If I get my rubber shipped to me, how much would it cost?

It depends on where you live and how much product you are purchasing. Call or e-mail us and be sure to include your zip code so we can send you a shipping quote.

How long does it take for me to get my rubber?

Once we have completed an order form and the product has been paid for, depending on where you live, delivery will take between 1-7 days. We will provide you with an estimated delivery date when you place your order.

Do I have to call in to order?

No. You can fill out our online order form and submit it to us. When we receive your order, we will contact you discuss any details and payment options.

Can I finance the purchase of my rubber mulch?

No. We need payment before product is delivered.

Do you accept Tax Exempt forms?

Yes. Please fax or email a copy to our office.

Do you provide any discounts?

Yes. We provide BIG discounts on bulk orders (truckload size (20 tons) order or bigger). Call us for a FREE quote.

How long does the rubber mulch last?

Our mulch is non-biodegradable, so it will never go away.

How long will the color last?

Our colorings are made with special water-based UV binders and pigments containing iron oxide. These colors hold up extremely well over many years of exposure to the elements. We offer a 10 year limited color warranty.

How can I pay for the product?

We accept cash, credit cards, checks, wires, and cash or check payments upon delivery (for local, in-state deliveries).

Where are you located and do you make the products yourself?

We are located in Joliet, IL and manufacture the rubber at our Joliet plant.

Has your products been tested for wheel chair accessibility?

Yes. Our products are ADA approved for wheelchair accessibility. See our safety page for the reports.

Have your products been tested for the critical fall heights?

Yes. We have been tested for the ASTM critical fall heights and are approved. See our safety page for the reports.

What is the difference between the KinderMulch 3/4" and the Premium KinderMulch 3/8" if they are both for playgrounds and 99.9% free of all trapped metal?

The difference is that KinderMulch 3/4" is a bigger size chip and contains fiber strands. Premium KinderMulch 3/8" is smaller and contain minimal amounts of fiber. The products also differ in appearance with the 3/8" having more of a finished, tailored look.

Are the KinderMulch 3/4" and Premium KinderMulch 3/8" the only products I can use for my playground?

No. We also offer our Premium Shredded Rubber 3" mulch. It looks just like normal wood mulch. This product works great for both playgrounds and landscapes.

Can I only use the Ground Cover and Premium Shredded Rubber for my landscape?

No. You can use any of our rubber mulch for your landscape area.
